"Another Side has been a
long time in gestation. In the 1970s, the late
Trevor Symonette, then ace lead guitarist for
The Bahamas’ top pop band, taught me to play
Minnie Riperton’s hit Lovin’ you. In the 1980s,
when I was a medical student in Jamaica, I
played in a band called 'The Cadavers'. It died
a natural death and once I was introduced to the
magic of Earl Klugh, I swapped my electric
guitar for a Yamaha nylon string. I wrote and
recorded Kelly’s song way back in 1988, in a
Klugh-inspired style, before traveling to
Bristol for postgraduate studies....."
